Patented Shrinkable Fabric

Original Transhield is a patented three-layer Shrinkable Fabric™. The outer layer is a special polyethylene shrink/stretch film. The middle layer is a hot melt adhesive containing no solvents. The inner layer is a soft, cloth-like polyester material. The combination of these three products provides surface protection to even Class A automotive finishes during transportation or storage. Transhield's unique, non-abrasive composition protects from the elements without causing damage to paint, gel coat or even decals.

Transhield's patented AAD (Adhesive Additive Delivery) System delivers VCI (Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor) chemistry for the protection of packaged metals. The heat of the shrinking process warms the adhesive to a point where it emits 10 times the level of normal VCI vapors. Transhield with VCI removes moisture from stored products and helps eliminate corrosion for stored metal products. Also removes moisture from products during shipping.

New ArmorDillo fabric is a 100% waterproof, breathable fabric that uses Smart Ionomer technology and advanced fabric flicking techniques. This technology allows moisture out through the fabric but does not allow moisture in. ArmorDillo is not shrinkable but excels in day-in-day-out, on-off cover applications. It includes VCI anti-condensation that helps prevent corrosion, mold and mildew. Will not damage product finish and is printable with custom graphics.

Three Layers of Protection

Transhield’s Tri-Laminate covers are light weight, but very thick (6.5 oz and 160 mil) dent resistant scrim for protecting products without damaging the finish. Features three layers: an outer layer of polyethylene scrim, a middle layer of closed cell microfoam and a polyester nonwoven inner layer. These three layers are then laminated together with a tie layer of thin, 1 mil film.
